What the waitlist collects

Choose an email address or US mobile number. We save your email for notifications about IRL’s launch and events, or your phone number for one launch notice or first-event invitation. Email signups receive a code to confirm ownership. Phone numbers are saved without a text or ownership check. Only submit your own details. We don’t ask for your name, school, or interests.

Who handles your information

IRL manages the waitlist. Cloudflare provides hosting, database storage, and Turnstile bot protection. The waitlist stores your contact encrypted, along with your signup method, signup time, and consent version. Temporary security records limit spam. We don’t sell your contact details or publish the list. SendGrid processes your email to deliver verification codes. No messaging provider receives your phone number when you join. Twilio or SendGrid will process your contact when we send a notification through your chosen channel.

Questions or removal

We do not share or sell mobile numbers, text-message opt-in data, or consent to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional use. Providers may process this information to deliver the service you requested. The text-message terms explain message frequency, costs, and how to stop messages.

Email liam.lenhardt@alpha.school to ask a question or request removal from IRL’s waitlist. Contact us from the address you signed up with when possible; we may need to confirm that a removal request is yours.

Retention

We keep your contact for the notifications you agreed to and delete it when you request removal. You can unsubscribe from notification emails anytime. We review and delete unused contacts after twelve months. Phone contacts are removed within thirty days after their one requested notification. Earlier signups keep their original consent scope and retention terms. Security counters are used for up to two days and cleared during signup processing or maintenance.
